FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Do you do Cadillac work at Pinto prices?
If you're price shopping, we're probably not right for you. We definitely recommend getting comparative estimates but at the same time to consider all factors, and not just price, in deciding among them.
Chemistry is possibly more important than price: selecting a contractor you don't feel comfortable with just to save money may cost you more than you save. We do promise that our work is equal to anyone else's, and that you will get the results you want.
Q. Why do I need a permit for such a small job? It's MY house! And none of the other contractors said anything about a permit.
A permit is a cheap way to get your work inspected by a knowledgeable expert to make sure it's done correctly and safely. You could hire me to come check it out but I would charge for the visit and for writing a report.
If you do the work yourself without a permit, it's likely that no one will ever be the wiser. But what are you really gaining by saving that $100? Will your homeowner's insurance cover faulty electric wiring that you installed yourself? How much does your health deductible cost, or a funeral? I am an expert, but not only am I required by law to get the permit; I have a lot of reasons relating to safety and liability to be glad that someone else is going to come after me to sign off that it's right.
